During the first few days on the HCG Diet you may experience hunger or at least food cravings.  This is normal for the first week of the protocol.  By the 5th day this should begin to subside once the HCG becomes saturated in the blood stream.  Many diets report that they are not hungry while on the HCG and have increased energy as well.

It is important to eat the food allowed including the fruits and around 100 oz or more of water.  This will keep you fueled and able to be productive during your normal day.  Adequate rest as well as an hour of walking is also important to a person’s overall well being.

A typical meal on HCG Diet might be 3.5 oz of grilled chicken, a handful of grilled asparagus, tea or cofee and a Melba Toast.  Speghetti sauce over steamed cabbage might be another favorite.  Taco meat sauce over lettuce might be another tasty meal.  Unlimited spices and hot sauce may be used as long as there is not sugar or oil in it.  Quanity is important especially the meat amount. 

A favorite recipe of many HCG Dieters is the spinach stuffed chicken breast rolled in crushed melba toast and baked in the oven.  Braggs Liquid Aminos is another favorite ingredient that is healthy and tasty for both vegtgies and meat dishes.  This is really a fun diet when you explore the possiblities and recipe books available.

The HCG Diet is a very limited calorie eating plan that includes fish, chicken, and beef as well as healthy organic vegetables and fruits.  On the 40 day protocol, fat or dairy products are not allowed and neither is starches, sweets or bread except two small pieces of Melba Toast each day.  Water, tea and coffee may be included in unlimited amounts but may be sweetened only with stevia and only 2T of milk per day.

This diet is designed by Dr. A.W. Simeon to cause the human body to cleanse toxins and heal the hypothalamus within a 40 day period.  This enables the body’s metabolism to begin to burn fat properly again and therefore enable a person to eat normally once the entire protocol is completed.  The HCG Diet is healthy only when taking HCG drops or spray at the same time.  The HCG protects the body from loss of reserved fat and muscle which is important to the heart and other organs.  Following the HCG Protocol exactly makes the HCG Diet safe and effective.

It is permissible to add spices and sauces on the HCG Diet as long as they do not contain sugar, fat or chemicals.  Garlic, Basil, Oregano, Onion, Cinnamon, Cilantro, Canjun, Italian, and any herb or spice will add zest to your food.  Lemon or Lime can also be added.  Hot sauce or salsa is a great addition.

It is important after Phase 3  of the HCG Diet Plan is completed to continue with good and different habits than you had before.  Try adding the following suggestions to your lifestyle:

  • Sit at a table and be relaxed when eating a meal.
  • Do not eat in front of the TV, in the car, or standing up
  • Eat slowly and consciously chew food thoroughly.
  • Play relaxing music while eating
  • Put smaller amounts of food on your plate and don’t go for seconds
  • Be conscious about whether you are really hungry or full.  Stop eating when you are no longer hungry.

The cause of eating when you are not hungry is a combination of stress and anxiety patterns locked in the body as well as the hypnotic triggers that are in our minds due to the highly advanced suggestive advertsing from TV, radio and print media put out by the food companies.  Combine this with the fact that the food we eat is loaded with chemical agents to create drug-like physical addiction so the food is craved.

It is important to take the advice of Dr. Simeon and the HCG weight loss diet and not eat certain forbidden foods such as highly refined sugars, artificial sweeteners, trans fats, MSG, food with nitrites, meat or poultry that has been raised with growth hormone, farm raised fish.  Also do a total body cleanse at least 4 times a year.

The HCG Diet was first introduced by Dr. A. W. Simeon and it was he that perscribed the exact items to eat on the diet.  However, it has more recently been discovered that to leave off the melba toast speeds up the fat burning process.  For those who need this extra bit of carbohydrate daily you should eat it.  If you decide not to partake of the melba toast, your fat burning will speed up.

It has nothing to do with aiding the weight loss.  It is to satisfy craving and hunger if needed.

Because the HCG Diet is aiming to rid your body of toxins which affect weight loss, you should not eat anything with MSG in it.  Never again should you eat MSG as long as you live.  It is a deadly, dangerous excitotoxin.  It increases depression, increases appetite, and makes you fat.

Read labels and throw away anything with this substance in it.  Chinese food often is loaded with MSG.  Choose wisely.

While on the HCG Diet Plan you should never use any artificial sweetners.  You should never use these again for the rest of your life.  All artifiical sweeteners should never be consumed.  They increase depression, are physically, chemically addicting and make you fat.

Use stevia while on the HCG Diet Protocol.  Later Agave Nectar, small amounts of honey or raw sugar should be substituted for the artificail sweeteners.

On the HCG Diet Plan you can mix three or four vegetables in a salad.   However do not mix vegetables when served with your meat on your plate.  You may season your salad with organic apple cider vingear, spices, salt and pepper.  You may steam cabbage, or spinach, broccli, oinions, asparagus but only serve a large handful of only one seasoned with spcies, salt and pepper or hot sauce.

Season the vegetables to your satisfaction and enjoy a different varitey each meal along with your fruits.  Each of the chosen vegetables have a purpose in your weight loss protocol.
